Utility Connectors
Utility Connectors
Connect a ½″, ¾″ or 1″ copper or CPVC line to a 1½″ plastic fitting. Press it in. No glue, no tools, no extra fittings.
One part, not a stack of fittings
Small line, big fitting. Getting a small copper or CPVC line into a 1½″ fitting can take a reducing bushing, an adapter and a transition. The Utility Connector does it in one piece.
Find your size
Pick the part by the size of the small line. All three fit a 1½″ DWV plastic fitting socket.

| Part | Small line | Goes into |
|---|---|---|
| UC-1550 | ½″ copper or CPVC | 1½″ DWV socket |
| UC-1575 | ¾″ copper or CPVC | 1½″ DWV socket |
| UC-1510 | 1″ copper or CPVC | 1½″ DWV socket |
UC-1575 shown. Sized for copper tube and copper tube size CPVC. It won’t fit Schedule 40 PVC pipe as the small line. Retail cards: PUC-1550, PUC-1575, PUC-1510.
Where it goes
- Tying a small condensate line into a 1½″ condensate line
- Clear-water lines running to a sump, drywell or outdoors
- Drain lines after an air gap fitting
- Non-plumbing equipment drains, where local rules allow
Water heater relief valve and drain pan lines, softener and RO drains, and A/C or furnace condensate lines can’t be sealed straight into a plumbing drain. Most codes call for an air gap. Check with your local inspector.
Three steps
- Press it inPress the stepped end of the connector into the 1½″ fitting socket.
- Add the linePush the small copper or CPVC line through the center of the connector.
- TestRun water through the line and check for leaks.

Common questions
Does it go into pipe or a fitting?
A fitting. The stepped end presses into the socket of a 1½″ ABS or PVC fitting, the same opening a 1½″ pipe would glue into.
Can I use it on a water heater relief line?
No. Relief valve and drain pan lines need an air gap and can’t be sealed into a drain. The same goes for water softener and RO drains.
Can I run A/C condensate into a drain with it?
Not directly under most codes. Use it to tie into a condensate line, or after an air gap.
Do I need glue?
No. It’s a press fit. No glue, primer or tools.
Can it take water pressure?
Only low pressure, up to 4.3 PSI. It’s for drain lines. Don’t use it on a water supply line.
A trap you can squeeze clear.
The Fernco Condensate Trap is a flexible ¾″ P-trap for HVAC and A/C condensate lines. It clamps on with no primer or cement, and you squeeze it to clear a clog.
