AccessPoint
A watertight, reusable access point for 3″–6″ plastic and cast iron pipe when a cleanout isn’t available. Core a 2-1/8″ hole, insert the plug and tighten with a 6mm Allen wrench.
No cleanout?
Make one where you need it.
When there’s no cleanout near the problem, getting a cable or camera into the line means working from wherever you can get in. Access Point puts a sealed entry right where the work is. Drill one hole, fit the plug, and it’s there the next time the line needs attention.

One hole
A 2-1/8″ hole saw makes the opening. No cutting out a section of pipe.
One wrench
Tighten with a 6mm Allen wrench to expand the seal inside the pipe.
Open it again
Loosen the bolt to get back into the line for the next cleaning or inspection.
Low profile
Sits close to the pipe, with minimal protrusion.
Get in. See the problem. Then decide.
Access Point works both ways. Put it in to get a sewer camera into the line, show the customer what’s actually there, and let the footage drive the next step. Whatever they choose, the opening is sealed.
- Get inInstall Access Point where there’s no cleanout to work from.
- LookRun the camera and find out what’s causing the problem.
- Show the optionsBuildup that jetting clears. Roots or a damaged section that calls for a PipePatch point repair, lining or a dig-up. A full-size cleanout for the long haul.
- Leave it or upgradeIf the customer goes with a formal cleanout, Access Point has done its job. If not, it stays in as sealed, reusable access for next time.
Improvised covers
- Whatever’s on the truck, clamped over the hole
- No rated seal
- Not made to come off and go back on
Access Point
- Expanding EPDM seal inside the pipe
- Rated to 14.5 psi, with 2,610 psi jetting resistance
- Opens and reseals with a 6mm Allen wrench

Tighten the bolt. The seal expands inside the pipe.
The plug goes into the hole with its seal following the curve of the pipe. Tightening the bolt expands the EPDM seal against the pipe for a watertight connection.
- EPDM rubber seal. Expands against the pipe as the bolt is tightened.
- Tightening bolt. Takes a 6mm Allen wrench.
- Built for drainage. EPDM, glass-filled nylon and 304 stainless steel.
Above or below ground. Sanitary or storm.
Designed for 3″–6″ cast iron and plastic pipe in sanitary and storm sewer DWV applications, residential and commercial.
- Drain cleaning access
- Camera inspection
- Routine maintenance
- Checking the line before deciding on a repair
- 3″–6″ diameter
- Cast iron

Frequently asked questions.
What pipe does Access Point fit?
3″–6″ diameter cast iron or plastic pipe, above or below ground, in sanitary or storm sewer DWV applications.
What tools do I need?
A sharp 2-1/8″ hole saw and a 6mm Allen wrench. They are not included with XP-1.
Do I need glue, tape or sealant?
No. The expanding EPDM seal makes the connection. No adhesives, tape or sealants are needed.
Can I open it again later?
Yes. Loosen the bolt with the 6mm Allen wrench to remove the plug. Don’t fully remove the screw, because the compression plate could fall into the pipe.
Will it hold up to jetting?
Access Point has a jetting resistance of 2,610 psi and a pressure rating of 14.5 psi.
Any tips for cast iron?
Use a sharp hole saw and a coolant to ease cutting and prolong the life of the saw. Remove any burrs and wipe the inside surface clean before fitting the plug.
