Fernco Launches Flap Valve Product Line to Help Address Growing Flooding and Backflow Challenges

DAVISON, Mich., June 9, 2026 — Fernco Inc., a leader in flexible pipe coupling solutions, today announced the launch of its new flap valve product line, expanding the company’s portfolio into the growing market for stormwater management and backflow prevention.
As municipalities and infrastructure owners face increasing flooding events, aging drainage systems, and more demanding environmental conditions, Fernco is expanding its product portfolio to help address these evolving challenges. The launch also marks the official introduction of Fernco Water Management, a growing portfolio of products focused on helping communities manage and protect critical water infrastructure. Building on established solutions such as channel drainage systems, Fernco Water Management will continue to expand with products designed to address evolving stormwater and infrastructure challenges.
Designed for stormwater, wastewater, combined sewer overflow (CSO), and outfall applications, Fernco flap valves help prevent unwanted backflow while offering a lightweight alternative to traditional cast iron and metal flap gates. The design simplifies installation and reduces maintenance concerns commonly associated with heavier metallic alternatives.
Constructed with an HMWPE body and backplate, EPDM seal, 316 stainless steel hardware, and glass-filled nylon hinges, Fernco flap valves are engineered to provide long-term performance in demanding municipal and industrial environments. The product line is available in both wall mount and spigot mount configurations to accommodate a wide range of installation requirements. Spigot mount models utilize Fernco’s proven Strong Back RC coupling technology, enabling connection to a wide range of pipe materials and nominal pipe sizes while helping simplify specification and installation.

The Fernco flap valve lineup was first introduced by Fernco UK in 2024 and has since been successfully utilized in municipal, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure applications. The North American launch brings that proven product line and field experience to customers throughout the United States and Canada.
